Alongside this exceptional wine, Domaine des Lambrays produces top-quality Premier Crus in Morey-Saint-Denis and Puligny-Montrachet. A sign of its global aura, the domaine has been owned by the LVMH group since 2014.

Domaine des Lambrays is located in the commune of Morey-Saint-Senis, between Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny. This village on the Côte de Nuits is an emblematic stop on the route des Grands Crus de Brougogne.

Domaine des Lambrays owns almost all the parcels of Clos-des-Lambrays. The estate takes its name from this climate. The 202 ouvrées (8.66 hectares) of vines on this grand cru face east. The soil is marly on the upper slopes, becoming clay-limestone as it descends. In addition to its vines in Morey-Saint-Denis, Domaine des Lambrays also owns a few parcels of Chardonnay in Puligny-Montrachet.

Domaine des Lambrays wines

Domaine des Lambrays red wines are all Pinot Noir. The Clos-des-Lambrays Grand Cru represents the bulk of production. Classified as a Grand Cru in 1981, this red wine is the most recent of Burgundy's 33 Grand Crus. A wine for long ageing, it is endowed with great aromatic richness. It is aged for 18 months in oak barrels, half of which are renewed for each vintage.

The domaine also produces an excellent Morey-Saint-Denis premier cru. This combines grapes from different Morey-Saint-Denis premier cru climats. Depending on the vintage, Clos-des-Lambrays grapes that do not reach the quality expected of a grand cru are added. The estate's Morey-Saint-Denis villages come from parcels located above Clos-des-Lambrays. More exposed, these vines are more sensitive to the vagaries of the weather. For white wines, the domaine produces two Puligny-Montrachet premiers crus.
