Since 1746, the De Suremain family has been producing Burgundy wines at Château de Monthelie. Éric De Suremain's team works in harmony with nature. To preserve the balance of the vine and its environment, biodynamic viticulture guides the winegrowers in their actions. Today, all the wines produced at the estate are certified organic. Respect for the terroir doesn't stop there: massal selection, following the lunar calendar for vineyard work and bottling, manual harvesting to preserve fruit quality, punching down of the cap, etc. These traditional techniques enable Éric De Suremain to produce white and red wines that pay homage to the Burgundy region.

Location of Domaine Éric De Suremain

Domaine Éric De Suremain is located at Château de Monthelie, on the Côte de Beaune. Since 1930, the De Suremain family has farmed the same vineyard plots in Monthelie and Rully. In Rully, they hold three monopolies on the Agneux, Pillot and Meix Caillet climats. This Burgundy terroir features a clay-limestone soil that gives the fruit its organoleptic profile. Thanks to the work of Éric De Suremain's team, the domaine's wines convey the character of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the region's grape varieties.

Domaine Éric De Suremain wines

Éric De Suremain produces singular white wines. The estate's Rully wines are classified as Premiers Crus and Monopoles. The young vines produce a lively, mineral wine. The older vines of the Meix Caillet and Pillot climats reveal a fine Chardonnay, round on the palate, but with a slight tension. The Château de Monthelie wine selection also includes a Pinot Noir from Rully Préaux. This is a fresh, fruity Premier Cru. The estate's other red wines are from the Monthelie appellation. A Village cuvée and three Premiers Crus are bottled at the château every vintage.
