WASENHAUS

Christoph Wolber and Alexander Götze run the Wasenhaus winery in Staufen, south of Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. Friends since their oenology studies at the Ecole de Beaune in Burgundy, they founded the estate in 2010. After working at some of Burgundy's finest biodynamic estates, including Pierre Morey, De Montille and Leflaive, they decided to return to Germany. There, they created the Wasenhaus winery and produced their own wines. They chose the wine-growing region of Baden, in a valley that separates them from the French Vosges mountains and the vineyards of Alsace. The first Wasenhaus vintage dates from 2016.
