The history of Château Bélair-Monange began in the 17th century in the Saint-Émilion region. The estate flourished under the management of Jacques François Joseph Canolle de Lescours in the 18th century, and was subsequently run by his son François Antoine Joseph. Thanks to its international development and production prowess, the estate was classified Premier Grands Crus in the first official Saint-Émilion wine classification. It is under the responsibility of Christian and Edouard Moueix, owners of the Château from 2008, that the estate reaches its peak. They took the Château to the top of the ten-year Saint-Émilion wine ranking.

The harvest is meticulously sorted, and only grapes at optimum ripeness are selected. Vinification is carried out in small batches, and the wines are kept in temperature-controlled vats for fermentation. They are then aged in barrels for 14 to 18 months.

Location of the Château

The Château covers 23.5 hectares and benefits from the best features of the Saint-Émilion region in Gironde, with soils composed of limestone and clay. These specific features lend a unique freshness, intensity and elegance to the wines.

The Château's wines

The vineyard's flagship grape variety is Merlot, a strategic choice given the specific characteristics of the terroir. The Château also produces small quantities of Cabernet Franc. The 2018 vintage of Château Belair-Monange releases notes of black fruits, roses and spices. Freshness and velvety tannins on the palate.
