The story of Domaine Pierre et Jean-Baptiste Lebreuil began with Paul Lebreuil in 1935. Paul owned a few ouvrées and, like many winegrowers at the time, he practiced mixed farming, selling his wines mainly in bulk to wine merchants. From 1958 onwards, his son Pierre joined him on the estate and took courses in oenology and viticulture at the Beaune viticultural school, before expanding the estate spectacularly with the purchase of several hectares of vines and a building. Pierre developed bottling on the estate and exported his wines all over Europe. So, when Jean-Baptiste arrived in 1999, having graduated from the Lycée Viticole de Beaune as a Technico-commercial en Vins et Spiritueux and armed with a wealth of experience in Bordeaux, Argentina and Australia, everything was in place for the Domaine to flourish.
