The Domaine des Héritiers du Comte Lafon is a recent estate, but already emblematic of the Mâconnais region. Located in Milly-Lamartine, this estate is an offshoot of the famous Comte Lafon domaine. Located on the Côte de Beaune, the latter is a great name in Burgundy white wines. Dominique Lafon has exported his expertise in Chardonnay to southern Burgundy, producing attractive white Mâcon wines whose reputation continues to grow.

The Domaine des Héritiers du Comte Lafon is based in Milly-Lamartine, in southern Burgundy. With a total surface area of almost 26 hectares, the estate's vineyards are scattered throughout the Mâconnais region. These vineyards are essentially concentrated in three areas. Around the Milly-Lamartine and Bussières area, the Chardonnay and Uchizy area, and the Viré-Clessé area. These clay-limestone terroirs are planted exclusively with Chardonnay. Domaine des Héritiers du Comte Lafon also owns a few hectares of vines in the Saint-Véran and Pouilly-Fuissé appellations.

Domaine des Héritiers du Comte Lafon wines

Domaine des Héritiers du Comte Lafon cultivates its vines using organic and biodynamic methods. Vinification is traditional, following a delicate pressing. The wine is aged exclusively in large wooden containers, foudres or demi-muids. Their volume prevents the wine from becoming too woody.

Héritiers du Comte Lafon's most prestigious appellation is its Pouilly-Fuissé En Chateney. Alongside it are Saint-Véran and Viré-Clessé. In the Mâcon appellation, the domaine also offers its signature wines: the most emblematic are the Mâcon Milly-Lamartine Clos du Four, the Mâcon Chardonnay Clos de Crochette and the Mâcon-Bussières Le Monsard. The estate also produces a Mâcon-Villages and a Mâcon Uchizy.
