CLOS DES FEES

With Domaine du Clos des Fées, Hervé Bizeul has transcended his relationship with wine. A former sommelier and wine critic, the winemaker has plunged body and soul into the creation of a vineyard. A new figure in Languedoc-Roussillon wines, he offers a no-holds-barred approach to viticulture. Hervé Bizeul follows his inspirations while respecting the vines and their terroir. The enchantment created by the first cuvée Les Sorcières has made Domaine du Clos des Fées a benchmark in the Catalan region.

The geographical location of Clos des Fées

The first plots of Domaine du Clos des Fées were located in Vingrau. 7 hectares of vines clinging to the limestone slopes of the Agly valley. Today, Hervé Bizeul's estate covers around 40 hectares of vines spread over the terroirs of Tautavel, Maury, Calce, Lesquedre, Opoul and recently Espira-de-l'Agly. The development of Domaine du Clos des Fées has led to the installation of a new vat in Rivesaltes.

The Domaine du Clos des Fées parcels are home to a variety of grape varieties: Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, Mourvèdre, Tempranillo and a recent addition, Pinot noir. They draw from their respective terroirs the qualities they need to flourish. The vineyards are diversified. Like the country in which it flourishes. Old Catalan vines of Grenache and Carignan (between 40 and 80 years old) are matched by young Syrah vines (25 years old).
