Flacons Confidentiels - Henri Richard

The Domaine Henri Richard is a small family estate in Gevrey-Chambertin, in Côte-d'Or. Small, but rich in two Grands Crus among the most prestigious red wines of Burgundy. If the estate mainly cultivates Pinot Noir, a part of the wines is made with Aligoté and Pinot Blanc. The vines and soils are worked with particular care, guaranteeing the quality of each wine from the estate.

Geographical location of the Domaine Henri Richard

Domaine Henri Richard is located in Gevrey-Chambertin, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. Its vineyards cover an area of 4.5 hectares, 90% of which are in Pinot Noir. The soil of Gevrey-Chambertin is calcareous clay, mixed with pebbles and gravel for the plots of Grands Crus. The rest of the vineyard is located in Marsannay, Morey-Saint-Denis and Brochon.

The wines of Domaine Henri Richard

Domaine Henri Richard cultivates its vines in biodynamy. The grapes are harvested manually and vinified in whole bunch. Fermentation is natural. The ageing period for Gevrey-Chambertin wine is 18 months and 12 months for other appellations.

In red wine, the Domaine Henri Richard is distinguished by two wines of great reputation: the Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru and Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru. These long-term wines are among the greatest red wines of Burgundy. Also in the terroir of Gevrey-Chambertin, the estate offers two other high quality appellations. These are the Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Corvées and Gevrey-Chambertin Les Tuileries. The range of red wines from the estate is completed by a Marsannay En Larrey and a Coteaux-Bourguignons Corvée de l'Église.

As for white wines, Domaine Henri Richard produces three different wines, the first being a Côte de Nuits-Villages Blanc. It has the particularity of being produced only from Pinot Blanc. This wine is accompanied by a Aligoté Burgundy and a Crémant de Bourgogne Blanc.
