Location of Maison Jean-Baptiste Souillard

Maison Jean-Baptiste Souillard is located in Andance, in the northern Rhône Valley. Each year, the same plots are harvested to produce cuvées that are as consistent on the palate as they are on the nose. Located on the right bank of the river, they are cultivated according to sustainable farming methods. The different grape varieties used by Jean-Baptiste Souillard benefit from granitic soils and hillside cultivation, typical of the northern Rhône Valley.

The wines of Maison Jean-Baptiste Souillard

Maison Jean-Baptiste Souillard produces wines that combine a certain uprightness with a fine austerity. Thanks to his scientific background, Jean-Baptiste Souillard vinifies his wines parcel by parcel, rigorously and with little intervention. His confidential cuvées are made to last. His wines are aged in old barrels. The winemaker produces some fifteen cuvées in the Côte-Rôtie, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Péray and Cornas appellations. The Saint-Joseph, made from a fine Syrah grape, reveals notes of red fruit and spices on the palate, with a fresh nose. Crozes-Hermitage, also made from Syrah, is a powerful wine with plenty of tannin.
